❓How Local Meetups Work

  1. Upcoming meetups are shared in #general and in relevant #city_community_channels (e.g. #toronto_community, #london_community). You can search for them by searching “#community” on Slack. #meet_toronto
  2. Sign up for a meetup using the Luma page (takes 10 seconds, just provide your email).
  3. Show up and have a great time! It’s a great way to meet other amazing people from the community.

Example meetup: SiT Product Meetup

👥 Organise an Local Meetup

If you’re interested in hosting a SiT meetup please fill out our form. Otherwise, if you are an authorised city lead SiT will give you creative control on organising a meetup. Our team will reach out to you on Slack to chat, learn more about you, and run through any questions.

Once approved as a meetup organizer, here’s what typically happens:

  1. If you have been authorised as a city lead we will give you access to Luma and our Canva. Then you will create a Luma event page that will create a calendar hold and collect emails.
  2. You will organise the event: date, time and place.
  3. Show up, and help everyone have a great time!

If you’re interested in holding a meet-up in an area that doesn’t have a #city_community channel, use your private slack channel to connect with SIT members OR contact [email protected]
